National Geographic and Lindblad Expeditions share a commitment to advancing conservation, research, education, and exploration, and seek to ensure a more positive future for the planet’s people and places. In support of this shared vision, we are seeking projects to support that are focused on preserving, protecting, restoring, and better understanding blue forests, which are some of our planet’s most important coastal ecosystems, and include mangroves, kelp forests, salt marshes, and seagrass meadows. Blue forests can be found all around the world, provide critical ecosystem services to their neighboring communities, and serve as carbon sinks. Through the Lindblad Expeditions-National Geographic Fund, we will support projects to better understand, protect, and restore these critical ecosystems.
