The Suriname Conservation Foundation (SCF), a foundation under Surinamese law, was founded on March 14, 2000 for nature conservation in Suriname. It does this, among other things, by financing projects and activities that promote the conservation of Surinamese biological diversity. This financing is provided from the proceeds of the Endowment fund and, as laid down in the foundation's statutes, projects are eligible that are aimed at conserving biodiversity in. According to the statutes of the Suriname Conservation Foundation (SCF), 65% of the available funds spent on strengthening the management of protected areas and buffer zones. Bodies working in the field of biodiversity conservation and management in Suriname are eligible for financing projects by the Suriname Conservation Foundation (SCF).
