‘Seed to Carbon Forest Acceleration’ - New Funding Opportunities with Terraformation.

Restor is proud to announce a new $1,100,000 partnership opportunity with Terraformation, a global restoration organisation aiming to engage local communities in restoring the planet’s native forests to combat the effects of biodiversity loss and climate change on our environment. Through their ‘Seed to Carbon Forest Accelerator’, Terraformation has partnered with over 20 community-led reforestation projects across five continents in just 2 years. This pioneering biodiversity-focused, carbon-funded forest accelerator, will help local forestry teams with the tools to launch restoration projects and succeed at scale. These include early-stage financing, training in resilient native ecosystem restoration and tools to increase project transparency in critical early stages. The next cohort application date will be March 30, 2024 for forestry teams that are committed to biodiverse native restoration. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis and will be considered for an upcoming cohort. Thanks to a specialised geospatial survey function developed by Restor, applications for the ‘Seed to Carbon Forest Accelerator’ will be processed through, and displayed on the Restor platform. All projects, whether selected for the Accelerator or not, will receive access to future funding opportunities, standardized scientific data on carbon, water, biodiversity, and get access to high-resolution satellite imagery, showing the world how their sites change over time. Who should apply? Experienced forestry teams with a focus on tropical and subtropical reforestation projects will be a great fit for the ‘Seed to Carbon Forest Accelerator’. Terraformation aim to support the next generation of forest carbon projects in restoring biodiverse, native ecosystems and are interested in supporting forest restoration teams around the world.
