Planting a fast-growing forest on the outskirts of Madrid to extend urban green areas and contribute to climate change mitigation.
The project is located on land owned by the Valdeolmos-Alalpardo City Council in the province of Madrid. It is a vacant lot, in which nothing is cultivated and with a percentage of forest less than 30%. The objective of the plantation is the environmental and landscape recovery of a currently treeless land, through the creation of a forest mass made up of woody plant species that is stable over time.
300 trees and 300 shrubs have been planted.
